Sussman: Master Artist
Designated by the Hawai'i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts as a master artist, the maker believes he has a moral and social responsibility to create instruments that stand the test of time and transcend hatred and greed. With clients worldwide, Sussman has produced over 300 guitars, violins and ukulele, and restored over 400 historical instruments. Mickey Sussman lives on the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i, known for its ancient rainforests primal Hawaiian Koa. The timbers are selected by the maker directly from the forest, not the marketplace, and aged for a minimum of fifteen years.
